It’s not that I don’t trust Him

I don't trust myself.

This realization came to me just recently, and was something I've been wrestling with for awhile now. Through difficult times, when no answers seem to be coming and I feel lost, I think I can quite confidently say that I believe with my whole heart that God is more than able to deliver and He will deliver in His time.

But, what if the problem lies with me? What if I'm just not hearing Him? What if He is trying to guide me to a solution but I'm not getting it? Afterall, the Bible does say that He will deliver when we cry out to Him. And if we ask for wisdom, He gives freely without finding fault. So maybe the problem lies with me… and I don't know it.

It's not that I don't trust Him, I don't trust myself.

Yes, I've been spending time seeking Him, praying, reading His word and trying my best to discern what He may (or may not) be saying. But what if I'm still missing it? We are so prone to distractions and hearing God does not seem like the easiest thing to do.

What do you think? Have you ever felt like that? What would your words of advice be for a person in this situation? Appreciate if you could leave your comments in the comments section below, which would serve to help thousands of others who read this in the days to come!

About the Author ()

I have been a follower of Christ for more than 20 years now. Started from a Methodist church, then went on to a few charasmatic churches and again back to a Methodist church now. Thus I have experienced and seen a wide flavor of different denominations. Personally, I consider myself non-denominational as I can worship in many different styles. The important thing is that I follow the gospel and love Jesus. I am currently serving as a musician and a worship leader in my church. I believe that my calling is to help others enter into the presence of God through worship. I also enjoy teaching and discipling other believers, which is the main reason why this site was started. I hope to find other believers to join me in this cause to reach out and encourage other believers.
